Art Institute Recipient of Student Art Program
Sun
Sentinel - March 3, 2000 --- The Art Institute
of Ft. Lauderdale has announced the establishment of a Renaissance
Hotel Student Art Program, a fund to help promote student
creative talents and expositions.
The
benefactors include a partnership between the developer (Interlink
Hospitality and Lennar Partners) and the general contractor
(Coastal Construction) of the new Renaissance Hotel, adjacent
to the Art Institute's location on 17th Street.
The
Renaissance Hotel Student Art Program will help fund projects
overseen by AIFTL, and will enable students to showcase their
creativity and intellectual pursuits.
The
fund will also develop future exposition opportunities at
the Renaissance Hotel, scheduled to open adjacent to the Art
Institute in February 2001.
"We
are extremely grateful to Interlink and Coastal Construction
for their generosity," said Bill Kalaboke, president
of the Art Institute, "Promoting art is a worthwhile
benefit too easily overlooked. This is a fine example of good
neighborly spirit."
